How to check the status of withheld or cancelled 2025 BECE results
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has introduced a new platform, dubbed the WAEC Irregularity Reporting & Investigation System (https://irreg.waecgh.org), to help candidates check the status of their malpractice cases in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In a blog post sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Council said candidates whose subject grade(s) are marked with ‘W’ (withheld) or ‘*’ (cancelled) can visit irreg.waecgh.org for more information on the status of their results.
According to the West African Examinations Council, the https://irreg.waecgh.org is a transparent, secure platform for managing, reporting, and investigating examination malpractices in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
The WAEC Irregularity Reporting & Investigation System (https://irreg.waecgh.org) also empowers Junior High Schools (JHS), candidates, and parents with real-time data and insights on their malpractice status.
The Key functions of the Irregularity Reporting & Investigation System (https://irreg.waecgh.org) are;

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Irregularity Reporting & Investigation System (https://irreg.waecgh.org) has two login sections: School Login and the Candidate Login.
For School Login, email and password are required, and for Candidate Login, Index number, Date of Birth, and Year of Examination are required.
How to check status of withheld or cancelled BECE results
1. Visit https://irreg.waecgh.org
2. Click on the Candidate Login button
3. Enter your Index Number
4. Enter your Date of Birth
5. Enter Year of Examination (eg, 2025)
6. Click on the Login as Candidate button (To check the status of your withheld or cancelled Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School or Private results, whether it has been released or is still pending).
A total of 603,328 candidates, comprising 297,250 males and 306,078 females, from nineteen thousand, five hundred and five (19,505) Junior High Schools (JHSs) entered for the school examination.
This includes seventy-two (72 ) candidates with visual impairment, two hundred and thirty-nine (239) with hearing impairment, and one hundred and sixty-one (161) candidates with other test accommodation needs.
The examination was conducted at two thousand, two hundred and thirty-seven (2,237 ) centres across the country. Out of the total number, two thousand, five hundred and twenty-six (2,526) candidates were absent.
The BECE for Private Candidates recorded a total entry figure of one thousand, three hundred and ninety (1,661) candidates. This was made up of eight hundred and fifty-eight (858) males and eight hundred and three (803 ) females.
Fifteen (15) centres, mostly in the regional capitals, were used for the BECE for Private Candidates. Out of the total number of candidates who entered for the examination, fifty-seven (57) were absent.
