Dr Eric Kofi Adzroe replaces David Prah as Ghana TVET Service DG

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has appointed Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe as the Director-General of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service.
In a blog post on the Ghana TVET Service’s official website, sighted by Pretertiary.com, the TVET Service said the appointment of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Director-General will be effective February 2025.
“The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe as the Director-General of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, effective February 2025,” the agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Education said in the blog post.
Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe replaces Mr David Prah who officially tendered his resignation as the Director General of Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, marking the end of his tenure with the institution.
In his resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr Prah cited his intention to pursue other career obligations and personal goals as the reason for stepping down as the TVET Service Director-General
“I write to formally inform you of my resignation as Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service effective today, Monday 27th January 2025. Mr President, please, this resignation has become necessary to enable me to pursue other career obligations and personal goals,” he said in the resignation letter.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Mr David Prah highlighted the strides made in advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education in Ghana over the past few years.
“I am very proud of the work done in pursuit of the TVET transformational agenda. I strongly believe that TVET holds the key in turning the economic fortunes of the teeming youth of this country,” he stated.
Profile of Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe
Before he was appointed Director-General of Ghana TVET Service, Dr Eric Kofi served as the Director of the Infrastructure, Planning, and Development (IPD) Division of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (Ghana TVET Service).
His major responsibility is to provide technical and administrative direction and leadership for the effective and efficient performance of the IPD Division of the Service.
Prior to his appointment as the Director of the IPD Division of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service, he was the Director of Physical Development and Estate Management of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College Ho, Ghana, in charge of the administration of all physical facilities concerning buildings, transport, water, grounds, and civil facilities and their maintenance, including ICT infrastructure.
Again, he was the Estates Manager and Infrastructure Programme Officer, respectively, at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Headquarters, where he advised the then Synod Committee on landed properties and general issues concerning new buildings and contracts.
Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe’s professional career spans over twenty years at the senior management level in research, private sector tertiary administration, and faith-based organisations.
His expertise in the built environment comprises construction, facilities management, project management, and environmental sustainability, while e-business technology emphasises the strategic application of ICT and e-business in business process improvement.
He is actively involved in helping to bring e-business technology to microenterprises and SMEs within the Ghanaian construction industry. His area of interest is ICT as a process improvement enabler, e-business in construction, and smart business.
