Education Ministry sets up television station dubbed Channel MoE
The Ministry of Education (MoE) under the leadership of Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10 AM launched a television station dubbed Channel MoE.
In collaboration with the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), the groundbreaking Ministry of Education TV Station in Ghana will be transmitting in 27 African Countries.
“This a strategic move by the Ministry of Education led by Cendlos and by extension the Ghana government to expand 21st-century Educational access to all Ghanaians irrespective of location, age, gender or disability.
Channel MOE will also be used as the official medium to bring updates and other relevant information spanning from the Ministry of Education and its agencies to our distinguished stakeholders,” MoE said in a social media post.
Channel MoE or the Ministry of Education TV Station, an official of the Education Ministry in a discussion told Pretertoary.com will also be a go-to source for all things related to the country’s education.
“From educational programming and curriculum insights to inspiring stories of students and educators across the country, we’re here to inform, engage, and empower the next generation of learners,” the MoE official said.
The set up of Channel MoE comes after Kwasi Kwarteng, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Education in 2022 said TV station in due course will be launched by the management of his outfit as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning in the country.
Speaking on UTV’s Mpu ne Mpu show monitored by Pretertiary.com, the spokesman said the Ministry in collaboration with the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS) have created a studio for the project.
“The Ministry of Education in partnership with CENDLOS have created a studio. Content creation as I speak is currently ongoing. So hopefully in no time, the Ministry will have its own television station,” Kwasi told the host of Mpu ne Mpu.
His comment comes after the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum launched the five ultra-modern content generation studios to boost e-learning and the digitization of manual content across all levels of learning.
The state-of-the-art studio, the Minister in charge of Education said is hosted by the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), an agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.
