GES develops portal for the GES Management Information System

The management of the Ghana Education Service under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MoE) has introduced https://gesmis.org as the official portal for the GES Management information system, Pretertiary.com can confirm.

The https://gesmis.org which currently has a login interface with the note “Welcome to Ghana Education Service Management Information System” according to Pretertiary.com’s check was created in April 2024.

With no feature to register or sign up for an account, the Ghana Education Service Management Information System (GES MIS) website requires that users enter their username and password to be able to log login to a dashboard.

The GES MIS portal comes after the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah at this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize launch said his outfit as part of efforts to digitalize its operations is set to introduce a Management Information System Platform.

In his address at the launch of the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) held in Accra at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) hall, Dr Nkansah said relevant information or data will be uploaded on the information system platform.

“We are currently working to implement the GES Management Information System Platform which will house all relevant data on schools, staff, learners and infrastructure,” the Director-General said at the 2024 GTP launch.

The Management Information System platform Dr Eric said, will enable staff to apply for assurance letters, transfers, salary-related issues, leave and a host of other things related to the Service which progress can be tracked online.

Speaking at the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize launch on the theme: “Celebrating Excellence: Valorising Our Teachers”, he said GES will continue to explore innovative and smart ways to deal with working challenges confronting staff.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) launch of the cutting-edge Management Information System (GESMIS) is designed to revolutionize the management of education data in Ghana.

The GESMIS platform provides a comprehensive and integrated system for managing education data, enhancing decision-making, and improving the overall efficiency of the education sector.

With GESMIS, the GES can track student performance, monitor teacher attendance, and manage school infrastructure, among other things. The system also prioritizes staff welfare, streamlining processes such as teacher transfers.

The launch of GESMIS is a significant milestone in the Ghana Education Service (GES)’s efforts to improve education access, quality, and relevance in Ghana.
