GES introduces 2 Moorch free calls, data for teachers using Telecel
In partnership with Telecel formerly Vodafone Gana, the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced an offer dubbed 2 Moorch to enable its staff to make free calls and enjoy other internet benefits.
In addition to the internet data, GES in a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com said teachers will also get more voice time for both OnNet and OffNet calls. The Offnet indicated allocation will be used for calls on other networks.
GES staff have been asked to send their Telecel number to subscribe and enjoy the 2 Moorch plan, which offers a comprehensive voice, data and SMS bundle and data-only plans with additional allocations for whitelisted sites.
“Rollover unused data to the next month, ensuring customers make the best use of the mobile plan. Free calls among staff on the integrated plan only. This fosters collaboration and teamwork,” the Ghana Education Service said in the post.
The introduction of the 2 Moorch offer comes after the Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah, announced that his outfit and Telecel have joined forces in an exciting collaboration to enhance educational opportunities.
The partnership, Dr Eric in a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.co,m said is aimed to leverage Vodafone’s technological expertise to innovate and improve access to telecommunications and connectivity among GES staff across Ghana.
“Vodafone Ghana and GES are about to redefine connectivity. Get ready to dive into a world of seamless communication. Together, we are set to create a positive impact on the learning experience for students and educators alike,” he noted.
In other news, the National Communication Authority (NCA), amid concerns raised by the public, particularly students of the high cost of internet data in the country, says the prices of the data packages will decrease by the last quarter of this year.
Dr Joe Anokye, the Director-General of the Authority, in an interview monitored by Pretertiary.co,m said that with the introduction of the NGIC wholesale carrier-neutral open access network, data prices will decrease by the end of 2024.
This network, expected to be launched by the last quarter of the year, he said, will enable operators like AT, Telecel, and MTN to purchase bulk data without upgrading towers or equipment, leading to increased efficiency and reduced costs.
“Data prices are expected to go down, especially again with the NGIC wholesale career neutral open access, now AT, now Telecel, even MTN, they will just buy bulk, they don’t have to upgrade towers, they don’t have to buy new equipment to provide 4G, another entity is doing that
They are supposed to launch by the last quarter of the year, and going from there, we begin adding more towers. I think we should be hopeful,” the Director-General of the NCA stated, speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness news show.
