GES restores recruitment portal online with a Self-posting module
The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has restored its recruitment portal (https://gespromotions.gov.gh) online with a new feature dubbed the College of Education (CoE) Self-posting module.
This comes after the Ghana Education Service under the auspices of the Ministry of Education temporarily took the https://gespromotions.gov.gh/ offline for some necessary upgrades aimed at including the CoE self-posting feature.
The Director-General of the GES, Dr Eric Nkansah in the communique explained that the portal downtime is for maintenance and an update which will enable applicants to use the newly introduced self-posting feature within the system effectively.
“The system is currently down to allow for an update which will allow applicants to be able to do a self-reposting within the system. Hence, the technical shutdown. We will communicate appropriately when the system is up,” he said.
A visit to the GES recruitment portal as of that time showed “503 Service Unavailable No server is available to handle this request” an error indicating the website is offline. The https://gespromotions.gov.gh was offline for about a week.
The newly introduced College of Education (CoE) self-posting module at the GES recruitment portal will allow newly recruited trained teachers to select their preferred region to be posted to by the Ghana Education Service in the country.
The Ghana Education Service says the self-posting module introduced in early July this year is a replacement for the traditional posting which was solely done by them to determine where a newly recruited teacher should be posted.
