KA Technologies opens aftercare centres for the TM1 laptop repair

Manufacture of the government Teachers Mate 1 (TM1) laptop, KA Technologies has established 24/7 aftercare centres across the country to provide technical assistance to teachers who may face challenges or issues with their devices.
“We have communicated and published our 24/7 Aftercare Centers dotted across the country, providing continuous customer and technical assistance to our cherished teachers,” the laptop company said in a press statement.
In the statement sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Teachers Mate 1 laptop manufacturer said it has launched a user-friendly Katcare App, aimed to allow teachers to book repair services and purchase laptop accessories.
“Teachers may also call our toll-free line 0800790555 to report any complaints or inquiries,” KA Technologies said in the statement announcing the completion of the distribution of the TM1 laptops to staff of the Ghana Education Service.
The Teachers Mate 1 (TM1) laptops were distributed to over 30,000 including teachers from Kindergarten to Senior High School, as well as teachers on study leave and non-teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Earlier, KA Technologies asked teachers and non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) yet to receive their TM1 laptop under the government ‘One teacher, One laptop’ initiative to dial *790*555# to generate their laptop collection code.
The manufacturer of the TM1 laptop in a statement urged the teaching and non-teaching staff to contact ICT Coordinators in their respective regions or districts for assistance to enable them to receive their laptops.
The Ghana-based laptop company in a statement sighted by Pretertiary.com said the creation of the collection short code was for audit purposes and to ensure that only eligible teaching and non-teaching staff receive the machine.
KAT in the statement released on Wednesday indicated that almost 96 per cent of beneficiary teaching and non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) across the country have received their laptops.
The Software and Hardware Technology Solutions company said it was stepping up its efforts to ensure all outstanding beneficiaries in all parts of the country take advantage of the initiative as it brings the nationwide distribution to a close.
Teachers in the Ashanti, Greater Accra, North East, Upper West, Upper East, Northern and Savannah regions were to activate their short code *790*555# and contact their ICT coordinators from Thursday, July 25 to collect their laptops.
Teachers and non-teaching staff in the remaining 10 regions were directed by the manufacturer of the government-procured Teachers Mate 1 (TM1) laptops to go through the same process from Wednesday, July 30, 2024.
