MoE adds 24/7 chat support on SHS/TVET placement CSSPS portal

The Ministry of Education (MoE), as part of efforts to address challenges with the second cycle school placement, has introduced a chat support on the portal of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
In a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Education Ministry said the chat box feature on the https://cssps.gov.gh is to report any concerns, complaints, and other challenges related to the SHS/TVET placement.
“The Ministry of Education encourages stakeholders, particularly parents, teachers, guardians and candidates, to utilise the chat box feature on the portal of the Computerised School Selection and
Placement System (CSSPS) to report any concerns, complaints, and other challenges related to the placement.
This is to enable us to promptly address the issues. The feedback we get from you will enhance the process for us to ultimately serve you better,” the Ministry in Charge of Education said in the post.
How to report SHS/TVET placement issues on CSSPS portal
1. Visit the CSSPS portal
2. Click on the chat box button
3. Enter name
4. Enter a number
5. Enter E-mail
6. Enter the Index number
7. Enter Examination year
8. Enter your message or concern
9. Click on the submit button to forward the concerns to the Ministry of Education for the issue reported to be addressed.
In other news, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has finally resolved the issue with the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal to enable students who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to review and confirm their second-cycle school choices, gender, school code, and programme code.
The Ghana Education Service, following the resolution, has encouraged students to log in with their BECE index number and Date of Birth to review and confirm their second-cycle school selection choices.
In a statement sighted by Pretertiary.com, GES said the Computerised School Selection and Placement (CSSPS) portal https://www.cssps.gov.gh will be live from August 30, 2025, till 8th September 2025.
It emphasised that schools selected cannot be changed, adding that the technical team and the 24-hour team are on standby to consistently take feedback and respond to them timely and appropriate manner.
“Please review your selected choices and verify your gender carefully. Once confirmed, click “Confirm” to proceed. If you notice any errors, kindly report them immediately through our support channels for correction,” a notice on the CSSPS portal has stated.
This year, a total of 603,328 candidates, comprising 297,250 males and 306,078 females, from nineteen thousand, five hundred and five (19,505) participating Junior High Schools (JHSs) entered for the school examination.
This includes seventy-two (72 ) candidates with visual impairment, two hundred and thirty-nine (239) with hearing impairment, and one hundred and sixty-one (161) candidates with other test accommodation needs.
The examination was conducted at two thousand, two hundred and thirty-seven (2,237 ) centres across the country. Out of the total number, two thousand, five hundred and twenty-six (2,526) candidates were absent.
The BECE for Private Candidates recorded a total entry figure of one thousand, three hundred and ninety (1,661) candidates. This was made up of eight hundred and fifty-eight (858) males and eight hundred and three (803 ) females.
Fifteen (15) centres, mostly in the regional capitals, were used for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates. Out of the total number of candidates who entered for the examination, fifty-seven (57) were absent.
