MoE call for public input on Ghana’s education via nef.moe.gov.gh

The Ministry of Education (MoE) ahead of the National Education Forum (NEF) has urged members of the general public to submit their input on how the country’s education sector can be improved via an email nef.moe.gov.gh.
In a social media post titled “National Education Forum Calling” the Ministry in Charge of Education said all public inputs or concerns will be submitted to the planning committee of the National Education Forum (NEF).
“Let your voice be heard on education in Ghana. Send your inputs to the National Education Forum Planning Committee via nef@moe.gov.gh,” MoE said in the social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com.
The call for public input on Ghana’s education comes after the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu inaugurated the eight-member committee appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to organise the National Education Forum, fulfilling his commitment to reform Ghana’s education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, he asked, “Can your committee help in finding answers as to how we can sustain this laudable initiative and make sure that when we pledge to provide feeding, we provide it timely, in quality, and in the right quantities?”
The Minister in Charge of Education said President John Dramani Mahama selected the members based on their rich expertise in education, expressing confidence in discharging their duties efficiently.
He said His Excellency John Mahama prioritised education because if the country got its educational policies right, it would help develop a competitive human capital from kindergarten to the tertiary.
“To the President, all is not well. He doesn’t pretend to have the answers or the solutions to the myriad of problems affecting equitable and quality provision of education to deserving Ghanaians,” Haruna told the committee members.
The committee, chaired by Professor George K.T. Oduro, a former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, at the National Education Forum inauguration ceremony, took the official oath and oath of secrecy.
The members are Professor Goski Alabi, Academic and Entrepreneur, Prof Rosemary Bosu, Senior Lecturer, University of Cape Coast, Dr Samuel Awuku, Education and Development Consultant, and Prof Smile Dzisi.
Others are the former Rector, of Koforidua Technical University, Mr Kofi Asare, Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Mr Stephen Owusu, a renowned Educationist, and Mr Inusah Shiraz, Education Policy Planner.
