MoE changes steps to check the 2024 SHS/TVET placement results
The Ministry of Education (MoE) after making access to the second-cycle school placement portals free has changed the process students who sat for 2024 BECE will use to check this year’s SHS/TVET placement results.
Earlier the steps for checking the second-cycle school placement results involved the use of a school placement checker card, something similar to the results checker card used to check Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.
However, in a statement dated October 25, 2024, and sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Ministry of Education said BECE graduates will not require any placement checker to access their SHS/TVET placement results at the CSSPS portals.
“Ahead of the release of the 2024/2025 Senior High School (SHS/TVET) placement results, the Ministry of Education is pleased to inform prospective first-year students, parents, and the general public that access to the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform will now be free for checking placement results
This new measure eliminates the need for candidates to purchase pin codes, making it easier and more accessible for students to check their placements,” the statement signed by the Education Ministry spokesman, Kwasi Kwarteng stated.
As the process of checking the computer second-cycle school (SHS/TVET) placement has changed, it is unclear if prospective students who sat for the 2024 BECE this year will still do self-placement or get manual placement.
Pretertiary.com has reached out to the Ministry of Education on how the 2024 BECE for School and Private candidates will be placed and will write a blog post if the MoE responds to our request for comment.
