MoE to hold a press conference on CSSPS for SHS/TVET placement

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced to hold a press conference on the Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) to be used for the Second cycle school placement of students who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School and Private candidates.
The press conference on the 2025 Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) scheduled for Wednesday August 27, 2025 will take off at the Minister of Education’s conference room at 2pm.
In a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Ministry of Education (MoE) said the press conference to be chaired by the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu is on the topic Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS).
“Join us tomorrow for a press conference on the Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS). Stay tuned for important updates on the placement process,” the Ministry said in the post.
The Minister of Education and Tamale South Member of Parliament is expected to brief the general public particulalry students who sat for the BECE on the new update for the second cycle school placement process.
In other news, the Ministry of Education (MoE) under the President John Dramani Mahama administration is likely to make second-cycle school placement checking free for students who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination.
This prediction is based on the recent redesign of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System portal (https://cssps.gov.gh) and changes made to the process used for checking the Senior High School/Senior High Technical School and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SHS/SHTS/TVET) placement.
Previously, students were required to enter their 10-digit BECE index number, followed by the last 2 digits of the year of examination, and a 12-digit voucher code. However, this time, they will only need to enter their BECE index number and Date of Birth to check their second-cycle school placement results.
Information sighted by Pretertiary.com on the 2025 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, also indicates candidates will use the Date of Birth used during the Basic Education Certificate (BECE) for School registration.
“Enter your 10-digit Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) index number, followed by the last 2 digits of the year of examination. For example, 100000000025 for the year 2025
Enter the Date of Birth used during registration,” an instruction on the Computerized School Selection and Placement System portal to check the 2025 second-cycle school placement said.
If it happens as predicted, then it means students will not be required to purchase a school placement results checker card to view the second-cycle school to which they were placed by the computerized school placement system.
The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is a computerized platform designed to match graduating junior high school students with senior high schools based on their academic performance, program preferences, and available vacancies.
Meanwhile, last year, the Ministry of Education, under the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration, declared free Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placement results checking for BECE candidates entering the 2024/2025 academic year.
The Ministry of Education revealed that access to the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform will no longer require the purchase of PIN codes, making it more convenient and accessible for students and families.
