Navrongo SHS, Ghana Lebanon Islamic School retract from NSMQ
Two second-cycle schools, Navrongo Senior High School and Ghana-Lebanon Islamic School, have withdrawn from the national championship of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) competition.
“Navrongo SHS and Ghana-Lebanon Islamic School withdraw from the competition,” the producer of the ongoing NSMQ, Primetime Limited, announced in a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com.
Although Primetime Limited didn’t disclose the reason for the schools’ withdrawal from the competition, it stated that both senior high schools pulled out at the preliminary stage of the Science and Mathematics Quiz.
Following Navrongo Senior High School and Ghana-Lebanon Islamic School, it said Konongo Odumase Senior High School has joined the contests 11 and 30 as top runners-up up saying the winners of the contest will progress to the one-eight stage of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz.
This year, a total of record-breaking 174 Senior High Schools, including private and government second-cycle schools, will compete in the national championship of the National Science and Mathematics Quiz.
Included in the 174 record-making figure are 27 seeded Senior High Schools (SHSs) from the 2024 edition of the NSMQ, 106 regional qualifier winners, 32 top-runners-up, and nine private Senior High Schools.
