NTC launches Ghana Teacher Prize finalists for the 2024 GTP award
In collaboration with stakeholders in the education sector, the National Teaching Council (NTC) under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Wednesday, August 14, 2024, launched the Ghana Teacher Prize finalists.
The 2024 GTP finalists’ launch was held at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall in Accra. The Teaching Council in a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com has congratulated finalists in the teaching and non-teaching category.
Aside from the finalists’ launch, the National Teaching Council (NTC) also launched the 2024 edition of the Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) award to honour teachers performing outstandingly in the country at the GNAT Hall in Accra.
On the theme: Celebrating Excellence: Valorising Our Teachers,” the Registrar of the National Teaching Council served as the host for the 2024 Teacher Prize event and the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum as guest of honour.
This academic year’s Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) award scheduled for October 3, 2024, to October 5, 2024, will be held in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
Greater Kumasi was picked as the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize hosteler after the NTC Registrar led a team of officials from his outfit to the region to engage stakeholders in preparation for this year’s ceremony slated for early October 2024.
The team paid a courtesy call to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah at the Regional Coordinating Council to officially inform him of the selection of the Ashanti Region as the host of this year’s prestigious Ghana Teacher Prize.
Honourable Simon Osei-Mensah in welcoming the team expressed his appreciation to the Council for the honour done the Region to host this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize.
The Ashanti Regional Minister assured the National Teaching Council (NTC) delegation of the maximum support of the Regional Coordinating Council towards the organization of a colourful event.
“I have known the Registrar of the National Teaching Council for many years now and I know what he stands for. I do not doubt the abilities of my Regional Education Director as well to deliver the best GTP ceremony.
The Regional Coordinating Council will work closely with the Regional Education Directorate and other relevant agencies in the Region to ensure we organize a memorable teacher prize,” Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah stated.
