MoE makes ‘Date of Birth’ optional to check SHS/TVET placement

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has made the entry of Date of Birth to check second-cycle school placement at the Computerised School Selection and Placement System portal (https://cssps.gov.gh) optional.
This means students who sat for the 2025 BECE can now use only their Index number to check their school placement at the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal.
Earlier, students were required to enter both their Index number, adding 25, which indicates the year of examination, and Date of Birth at https:cssps.gov.gh to be able to check their school placement.
But the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, in a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com, said Date of Birth is not a mandatory requirement anymore.
In other news, the Ministry of Education (MoE) says it is working to resolve the downtime issue with the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal (https://cssps.gov.gh).
The Education Ministry’s assurance follows concerns raised by the general public, particularly students, expressing worry about the unstable condition of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal.
For instance, some students, when logged into their CSSPS dashboard, are welcomed with the notice: “Placement Information. Access your placement and download your placement slip for enrollment. No Automatic placement has been made for you at this time.”
