WAEC extend 1st series 2025 WASSCE for Private registration date
The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has proactively extended the first series of the 2025 WASSCE for Private registration date to Monday, January 13, 2025, to enable more students to register for the examination.
The 2025 WASSCE for Private registration was scheduled to end on December 31, 2024, but the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) later extended it to Wednesday, January 8, 2025, and now to Monday, January 13.
“The period of registration of candidates for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination For Private Candidates, 2025 – First Series is ongoing and scheduled to end on Monday, 13th January 2025.
Prospective candidates are requested to visit the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) website for registration details and register at WAEC-accredited internet cafes.
Please note that the examination is scheduled to take place from 24th January to 15th February 2025. For more information, visit www.waecgh.org,” the not-for-profit-making organization stated in a blog post.
The registration for the 2025 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates (first series) officially commenced on Monday, October 21, 2024.
According to WAEC candidates who have been barred from its examination and attempt to register before the expiration of their sanction will have their registration annulled, and any fees paid will be forfeited.

Candidates offering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Agriculture will write the Alternative to Practical tests and will not pay additional fees.
Candidates offering subjects under the Vocational Programmes will write the actual practical tests for those subjects.
Candidates offering Foods & Nutrition and Oral French will receive notifications of the actual dates and times of the practical/oral tests via SMS on their mobile phones.
