WAEC discloses date for Jan/Oct 2025 WASSCE Private registration

Next year’s WASSCE Private registration will commence on Monday, October 21, 2024, and end on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, with no further extension of the registration deadline, the West African Examinations Council has said.

In a social media post sighted by Pretertiary.com, WAEC said the WASSCE for Private Candidates usually referred to as Nov/Dec in 2025 will not be administered in November/December again but in January and October.

According to the Examinations Council, the private examination will be conducted in two series (first series and second series) to enable second-cycle school graduates to apply for tertiary admission in good time without delay.

The first edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates the not-for-money-making organization said will be conducted in January 2025 and October 2025 for the second series

Speaking in an interview, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi said the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Private Candidates is now referred to as WASSCE for Private Candidates One (WASSCE PC 1).

“We are introducing another one that we call the PC1 or private candidates examination one that comes early February next year so that those who want to gain admission into university but after they receive their results for the WASSCE for School may need to do some remedial can do that and use those grades to enter the university,” Mr Kapi said.

How to register for 2024 Nov/Dec

1. Visit the WAEC Nov/Dec registration website here

2. Fill in the required security information data, i.e. password, security question, etc.

3. Fill in your personal information.

4. Upload your picture.

5. Upload your signature.

6. Fill in your personal information.

7. Select the Region and the Centre where you wish to take the examination.

8. Select the subject (s) you intend to write about.

9. Print your voucher and send it to any of the banks

10. Pay the appropriate fees at the bank or by Visa card ONLINE.

11. You will use your Invoice Number to access your Index number and admission notice from mid-October, 2024.

Relatedly, the management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on September 30, 2024, ended the 2024 WASSCE Private registration which commenced on February 5, 2024.

It is expected to conduct the 2024 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates or Nov/Dec from October 25 to December 18, 2024.
