WAEC gives date to release 2024 WASSCE for School results online

The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has tentatively announced between December 9, 2024, and December 15, 2024, to release the 2024 WASSCE for School results online.

John Kapi, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC disclosed the date in an interview monitored by Pretertiary.com saying the provisional results may be delayed amid the government’s outstanding debt to the Examinations Council.

“We were looking at the second week of December, so at least between the 9th and the 15th of December, we are sure that we will be able to release the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School results

But as we speak, lack of funds could jeopardize this and could make us move the release date forward,” the West African Examinations Council spokesman told the host of Citi FM’s Eyewitness News Show, Umaru Sanda Amadu.

5. Enter the Serial Number found on the Result Checker Card

6. Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Result Checker Card (eg. 012345678912)

7. Confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to ensure that your examination information is correct.

8. Click on Submit and wait for the display in the pop-up window. This may take several minutes.

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates commenced on Tuesday, 5th August 2025, with the Visual Art Project work and continued with the written papers on Monday, 18th August 2025. The examination will end on Friday, 19th September 2025.

A total of 461,640 final-year students, made up of 207,381 males and 254,259 females drawn from 1,021 public and private Senior High Schools (SHS), have registered for the WASSCE for School candidates.

This figure represents a 0.22% increase over the 2024 entry figure of 460,611. The 2025 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination is taking place at 703 centres across the country.
