How to check 2026 SHS/TVET placement results at cssps.gov.gh
The second-cycle school placement results of students who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released on September 17, 2025. In this blog post, we will show you how to check the SHS/TVET placement results at the Computerised School Selection and Placement System portal.
Unlike previous years, when students were required to purchase a school placement result checker card to check their Senior High School placement, the Ministry of Education has made checking of the 2025 SHS/TVET placement free.
What this means is that students will not be required to purchase the school placement results checker card bu instead they will enter their Index Number and add 25, indicating the year they wrote the BECE and Date of Birth at https://cssps.gov.gh to check their second cycle school placement.
Following the downtime of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal https://cssps.gov.gh, Pretertiary.com recommends that students use the Mozilla Firefox browser to check their 2025 second-cycle school (SHS/TVET) placement.
We have found out that Mozilla Firefox makes checking the school placement less stressful compared to the Chrome browser, which gives this error: “Oops! An Error Occurred. The server returned a “405 Method Not Allowed”.Something is broken. Please let us know what you were doing when this error occurred. We will fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
How to check 2026 SHS/TVET placement
1. Visit the CSSPS portal
2. Enter your 10-digit index number, followed by “25” to indicate the year you wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) (for example, 123456789025).
3. Enter your Date of Birth (The Date of Birth you used during registration for the Basic Education Certificate Examination)
3. Click on the Sign in button and wait for the placement result to be displayed.
If you are seeing “No automatic SHS/TVET placement has been made for you at this time” at your Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) dashboard, it does not mean you did not get school placement, but rather it means you have not been assigned to any second-cycle school yet.
As the Ministry of Education (MoE) is working to resolve the downtime issue with the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, rest assured, you will be assigned a school.
What you have to do is keep refreshing the https://cssps.gov.gh portal after you have logged in to your dashboard and navigate to the Placement information section to check if you have finally been assigned a school.
Check by Pretertiary.com also indicates that the Computerised School Selection and Placement System Secretariat under the Ministry of Education has removed the self-placement module from the CSSPS portal.
While the reason for the self-placement module is unknown, it is expected that the module will be reinstated once the downtime issues with the computer school placement portal (https://cssps.gov.gh) are resolved.
In other news, the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Secretariat, ahead of the release of the SHS/TVET placement results, has removed the Choices Confirmation feature for reviewing and confirming selected school selection choices at the CSSPS portal.
The feature that allowed candidates to review the entries they have made, gender, school code, programme code, online at www.cssps.gov.gh, was introduced to reduce the errors associated with school placement.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), in late August, encouraged students to log in with their BECE index number and Date of Birth to review and confirm their second-cycle school selection choices.
In a statement sighted by Pretertiary.com, GES said the Computerised School Selection and Placement (CSSPS) portal https://www.cssps.gov.gh will be live from August 30, 2025, till 8th September 2025.
GES emphasised that schools selected cannot be changed, adding that the technical team and the 24-hour team are on standby to consistently take feedback and respond to them in a timely and appropriate manner.
